DSLR Camera Settings Tips

Simply having a DSLR camera to shoot pictures is not enough to guarantee success – you must first and foremost have a unit capable of quality images at fairly high resolutions (at least 3 Mega Pixels) and know how to use it properly.

Even the simplest point and click systems have options, and to get the most out of your pictures you need to understand what options are available to you and use the features that are appropriate at any given time. Most if not all quality DSLR cameras have the ability to change the F/Stop settings in some form for instance, thus changing the depth of field vs. speed of motion settings that are available from the same photograph.

Here are some easy to follow DSLR camera settings tips:

1.The lighting conditions are very important to consider. The best way to account for this is to manually adjust the white balance settings.
2.A perfect way to adjust for the white balance, is to use a white or gray card in front of your camera.
Another great tip is to use the ExpoDisk - Professional Digital White Balance Filter.
3.When shooting in a low light environment, it is better to use a higher ISO rating. (To avoid noise and grain in the final result, try not to go too high).
4.Use the Aperture mode in DSLR camera settings where the background needs to be in focus. The Shutter Priority mode is used in fast-moving action shots.
5.If you use the Full Manual mode, you can adjust both your shutter speed and aperture as you wish. This way the camera doesn't automatically adjust these by itself. This allows you take more creative shots.
6.The burst mode allows you to take multiple snapshots in rapid session by holding down the shutter button. This mode is often used when taking photos of a fast moving subject. The faster memory card you use the faster shots you take.
7.The histogram is a great tool to check if the image is properly exposed or not.
8.The exposure bracketing mode is used when you want to ensure that you have properly exposed your pictures. Especially when the lighting situations are challenging. Use exposure bracketing to find the one that looks best.

These are only some basic DSLR camera settings tips and you will not become skilled without
patiency, persistancy and being experimental.
The art of photography takes a long time to master, but in the end you will prevail.
