Color Conversion Filters
COLOR CONVERSION (85A, 85B, 85C):
Used to adjust for using tungsten color films in daylight conditions these lenses are similar to the daylight lenses but work in the opposite direction – cooling the color tones from real light to ensure the color tunes are correct. Respectively the adjustment ranges for these lenses are from: 5500°k - 3400° k, 5500°k - 3200° k, and 5500°k - 3800° k.
YELLOW (K2):
Yellowfilters will increase contrasts between clouds in the background and the foreground and as such are ideal for scenic photography or to enhance sunset or sunrise shots. Often used at medium-length subject shots yellow filters do not affect color tone much if any.
ORANGE (G):
Used to increase contrasts between yellows and reds in shots only – it can also help to create dramatic sunset and sea shots but is designed more for long-distance outdoor shots such as those taken with a telephoto lens.
XO:
Used primarily for b/w work an XO lens changes reds to darker shades with greens appearing much lighter which can help create more natural skin tones in some instances and lighting conditions!
DAYLIGHT (80A, 80B, 80C):
Some film that is sensitive to color spectrums found in outdoor lighting may not work well with artificial lights, these filters allow the use of a photo lamp at varying Kelvin’s (color temperatures) to work without the distortion they would have otherwise. Respectively they work from 3200°K - 5500°K, 3400°K - 5500°K, and 3800°K - 5500°K.
