UV Filter for Haze Elimination and Protection
UV filter is a filter that removes UV radiation which can cause a slight bluish tint in some subjects (snow, landscape, high altitude). The UV filter absorbs some of the ultraviolet rays that the sun produces and is typically used in outdoor photography to avoid the image seeming hazy or ‘washed out’ by the UV rays.
Most people use the UV filter as a lens cap - it's better to scratch a replaceable filter than the front surface of the lens. UV filter is great to have on the lens at all times and it does not affect the shutter speed and color balance.
